Q: When should I start planning my party?
A: Once you've decided you'd like to host a NYLA STAR jewelry party, give yourself about a three week planning window. This will allow you more than enough time to select your guest list, come up with a budget, send out your invites and prepare for the party.
Q: When should I send out my invites and how many people should I invite?
A: Your invites should ideally go out two weeks prior to the event date. Paper or electronic invitations are both acceptable. You can invite as many or as little guests as you'd like, it's whatever you're comfortable with. Typically, the turnout is between 10-20 ladies per party. Q: How much money should I spend on hosting a party?
A: This depends on what you feel comfortable with. It's always nice to have some beverages and snacks, but no need to go overboard. Party expenses can easily stay under $100.
Q: What day/time is best to have a jewelry party?
A: Parties usually take place in the early evening on either weekdays or weekends for 2-3 hours. Sunday brunch parties are also a great option. If you host a party at your office, it should be in the afternoon on a weekday.
Q: What is my hosting incentive?
A: As a hostess you will receive a jewelry allowance based on 20% of the party's sales. For instance, if the total sales are $1,000, the hostess receives a $200 jewelry credit, which is good for up to one year after the party date. Additionally, NYLA STAR jewelry parties are just a good time to get together with friends, catch-up and shop in a convenient and no-pressure way.
